Posts to the tribute of Elaine Florence Hagarty

Lannie was truly an amazing woman. We met through politics many years ago and she became my dear friend and supportive mentor. I admired her keen intelligence and wealth of knowledge along with an attitude that always saw the glass as half- full. Her children were devoted to her and she always spoke so lovingly about them, her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She felt deeply connected to them. Lannie retained an impressive historical memory of the City of London borne of her years spent as a devoted city councillor. I will miss our regular telephone talks and Lannie’s continuing insight and wisdom. I feel privileged to have had her in my life. My sincere condolences to her family who I looked forward to seeing at the 100th Birthday Celebration planned for August 1st. You are in my thoughts and my heart. Sincerely….Judy Potter

Lannie was a bridesmaid at the wedding of my mother Nancy Trumper. Here is a picture of the wedding party many years later. She outlived them all! Lannie was always kind enough to keep in touch with the entire Trumper family through the years and we will miss her. Lannie and her entire “greatest generation” are passing into history.
