My condolences to Janet and family. I had the pleasure of working with Bob at Funk Seeds as his summer student. He taught me about the power of careful observation. And I'll never forget the time we ate lunch at the Belmore Burger Bar... I walked in and there was Bob sparkling-eyed and sitting in one of the saddles up at the bar. I still laugh about that and about how we would both imitate groundhogs standing, hands over belly, in any given field. So many excellent memories of a really super man.
