Obituary of Maureen Olive Murphy

Maureen Murphy-Dorfman

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Maureen Murphy-Dorfman, Feb. 20, 2025 at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario.

Former resident of Toronto, Blue Mountain (Collingwood) and most recently, Chatham, Ontario.

Maureen will be lovingly reunited with her late husband, Morty Dorfman (2017) and stepson Stevie Dorfman (2002).

Maureen was born May 2, 1953, third daughter of parents, Edward and Olive Murphy. Predeceased by her parents, sister Kathy Fox (2018) and brother-in-law, Bill Fox (2020).

Maureen will be forever cherished by her family.

She is survived by her daughter Kelly Murphy-Myers (partner Fran) and former son-in-law Greg Ward, step-son Michael Dorfman, and former daughter-in-law Denise Welman. Proud grandmother to Shelby Dorfman, Miles Dorfman, Abigail Ward, and Cameron Ward.

She is survived by brother Michael Murphy (Chatham, ON.), sisters Eileen Sabol (late Frank) of Allen Park, Michigan, and Maggie I Peggy and husband Robert Jacobsen of Nanaimo, B.C.

Maureen's love extended to nieces Jennifer Fox, Eirinn Jacobsen, Kelly Jacobsen, nephews Scott Sabol, Jason Fox and their families.

As to her wishes, cremation has taken place with a celebration of life and interment at a later date.

Donations in memory of Maureen may be made to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
