Only a few years ahead of me you were a mentor and friend. The only bad idea you ever had was ultimate frisbee. I am sad that I am too late to connect again. I still believe in everyone and show up to social work everyday. You have a hand in this. RIP beautiful Shelley.

Oh this hurts my heart! I had the pleasure of working with Shelley in 2016, she actually interviewed me for my role at Kings at that time. Shelley fondly said I was her candidate of choice because she appreciated my openness about motherhood and my daughter! She loved babies and kids! I admired her clinical wisdom as a social worker, gentleness in relationships , fitness (she kicked my butt on lunch break walks), and trauma informed yoga practice. I think of her often when I share a video ad/commercial about accepting emotions and self compassion for Glenon Doyle’s Love Warrior book! My deepest condolences to her daughters, family, clients, colleagues and friends.

My sincere condolences to Shelley's family. I was an MSW classmate of Shelley's and my memory of her is of her passion for our profession. I remember her bringing a guest speaker to class who was a former client of hers in Toronto and his impactful presentation about the institutionalization experiences of the 60s/70s/80s and his connection with Shelley as his social worker. I had many conversations with Shelley about social work books, practices, experiences and it was so clear that she was in a profession that brought her interest and fulfillment, which she in turn shared with her clients.

I worked with Shelley in community mental health for a number of years. I experienced her as a skilled clinician, and a generous colleague. She lit up when sharing anything about her children, and reflected often how proud she was of how her girls were moving through the world. She was an encourager of adventure, of travel, of fun moments and connection.
My thoughts are with everyone grieving her loss. I am so incredibly sorry.
