Obituary of Patricia Louise McFee

McFee, Patricia Louise

June 13, 1944 – May 21, 2025

Patricia McFee passed away peacefully on May 21st, at the age of 80. Patricia, along with her siblings Shirley Ann and Allan, was raised on a farm in Hillsburgh, Ontario by their loving parents, Wilbert and Margaret McFee (née Reid). She attended school in Orangeville and later attended nursing college in Toronto. She worked as a Registered Nurse at various locations, including in her role as charge nurse in the Emergency Department at University Hospital, London. With young children at home, she chose to work at UWO (Western University) in Student Health Services where her hours were more predictable. This job gave her leadership opportunities as Nurse Coordinator. Her compassion and dedication touched many lives.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, David Pomerantz, and her loving sister, Shirley Ann Holmes. Patricia leaves behind her daughter Cecily Bristow-O'Flaherty (Michael O'Flaherty), her son Adrian Durham, her daughter Carmen Lazorek (Michael Lazorek), and her stepson Jesse Pomerantz. Patricia cherished her grandchildren: Ciaran, Aidan, Ellara, Miranda, Nolan, Sierra, and Logan; and her nieces and nephews: Cindy, Brent, Ryan, and Alaina.

Patricia was a breast cancer survivor. She didn't shy away from her circumstances but instead sought out other survivors by participating enthusiastically in Rowbust, London’s Breast Cancer Survivor Dragon Boat Racing Team. Patricia was a close friend to many. Her qualities of kindness, compassion, genuine interest and sense of humour drew people to her. She was adventurous more than most, never hesitating to jump into a new activity or sport with no fear of not being good enough and often excelling.

Patricia's passions included exploring recipes, gourmet food, cooking, entertaining, and dining at quality restaurants (always with the best 'view'!). Patricia and David loved to garden, travel, and enjoy the company of friends and family, almost always over a delicious meal. It was a life well lived.

Patricia will be missed by many. Her legacy of kindness, warmth, community and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her.
