Marian Elizabeth Rixon
August 21, 1930 - June 2, 2025

Our beautiful mother, passed away on June 2, 2025, at the age of 94. Born at home, in Woodham, Ontario, Marian was the last surviving member of her family. Predeceased by her mother, Mary Mills, father, Billy Mills, and brother, Ken Mills. Beloved wife for 41 years to the late Don Rixon (1994).

Marian’s life was a testament to strength, independence and the quiet beauty of a life well lived. She approached life with a gentle determination and a deep sense of care for those she loved. In quiet moments, Marian found peace in her garden or at the piano. Her beautiful soprano voice was like listening to an angel sing. A result of this gift was a highlight of her life, an overseas tour of Europe in 1953, with the Earle Terry Choir. A graduate of the Victoria Hospital Nursing Program in 1951, she dedicated her professional life to Nursing and remained best friends with many of her classmates.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her devoted daughter, Mary (Dave), her beloved sons, Robert (Penny), Peter and Paul (Linda), her three treasured grandchildren, Amber, Jeff (Terryl), Jason (Brittany) and her great granddaughter, Ava.

The family extends their deepest thanks to the Palliative Care Team at Parkwood Hospital, floor 9 University Hospital, Fox Hollow Retirement Home, PSW Jackie, for their compassion and care provided to Marian and her family in her final journey. Their kindness will never be forgotten.
