Irene Alice (Lal) Whittle

April 12, 1934 - July 24, 2025
 

Dearly beloved wife of the late Brian Whittle (Nov 20, 1931 - Nov 19, 2018).
Loving mother of Christine, Catherine (Mark), and Mike (Andrea). Very proud nana of Mike, Stephanie, Stephen, and Samantha, and Great nana of Chelsea and Ozzy. Will be missed by nieces, nephews, and family in both Canada and England.

Irene was born in Radcliffe, Lancs, England where she met and married Brian, June 4, 1955. They emigrated to Canada in May 1956 where they raised their family near Toronto; later retiring to Elliott Lake in 1994. In 2016, they moved to London to live with their daughter, Christine.

Irene loved life and enjoyed visits with her family. She loved music, singing, and her cats.

Due to advancing Alzheimer's and Vascular Dementia, Irene spent her final years in Secord Trails Long Term Care Community where her laughs could be heard down the halls daily. The family would like to thank the staff, particularly her PSWs and nurses, for their care and kindness.
