Obituary of John Murray Huyck

April 27, 1936 - August 13, 2025

With his family’s love surrounding him, John Murray Huyck of London, Ontario, and formerly of Dorchester, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in Toronto, Ontario, on April 27, 1936, he was the son of the late John Stewart Huyck and Johanna (Gerstenberg) Huyck.

John will be remembered for his quiet strength, kind heart, and gentle sense of humor. He enjoyed time with family, especially his stepchildren Cheryl (Steven) and Jeff (Gisele), and was a proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents and will be dearly missed by his former wife, Nancy, as well as extended family and friends.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care for their compassion, care, and kindness.

In keeping with his wishes, John will be cremated, with a private ceremony to be held at a later date. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery in London, Ontario. In lieu of flowers, donations in John’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
