Obituary of Douglas Michael Harrison

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas “Doug” Michael Harrison, age 61, on September 9, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Hospice in London, Ontario.

Born in Dunnville, Ontario on February 2, 1964, Doug made his home in London with his loving wife Jennifer (nee Small), where together they raised their two sons, Alex and Ben. Doug was immensely proud to be “Papa” to his grandson Noah, who brought endless joy to his life. His faithful dogs, Cash and Remy, were never far from his side and will miss him dearly.

Doug is lovingly remembered by his siblings Cindy (Mark) Zettler, Craig (Kim Wilkins), and Chris (Erin), in-laws Laura (Rick), Ian (Clara) and David. He will be deeply missed by his many nieces and nephews — Meagan, Anthony, Will, Christina, Cody, Spencer, Molly, Abbey, Josh, Cam, and Emily, Rachael, Nelson and Lola — along with their partners, who all adored their “Uncle Doug.”

He is reunited in peace with his late brother Sean (Sherri), his father Doug Sr. (Judy), his mother Linda (Ken Lilley) Phillips, and nephew Niall Moore.

Doug was a proud fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays, always sporting his team’s hat with pride. He found peace and joy boating on Lake Huron, where countless summer days were spent with family and friends. In his younger years, Doug was deeply involved in his community as a leader in youth sports, Scouts Canada, and through his faith at Riverside United Church.

Above all, Doug will be remembered for his generosity of spirit. He had a gift for listening, mentoring, and lifting others up. He was the kind of man who made everyone feel welcome, often with a story or a well-timed joke. His warmth, wisdom, and laughter will live on in the countless lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Riverside United Church in London, Ontario (695 Riverside Drive) on October 4th, 2025 at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Doug’s memory to the Humane Society London & Middlesex, a cause close to his heart.

Doug’s legacy of kindness, love, and laughter will never be forgotten.
