Obituary of Ernest William Zaple
Ernest William Zaple
(“Bye For Now”)
Sadly, on October 8th, 2025 in his 93rd year, our father lost his battle with Congestive Heart Failure at the University Hospital in London, Ontario. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.
Born in Devon, England and came to, as he described it, ‘the most beautiful country in the world – Canada’ when he was 17 years old. After surviving the war as a child, he and his family settled in a house in the small village of Byron where he lived for over 70 years.
He loved working in his gardens, fishing, and spending time with family and friends at special gatherings. He was an avid supporter and spectator at his grandchildren’s activities.
He will be greatly missed by his surviving children and their spouses; his son James Zaple (Heather) and his daughter Shelley Marsh (Kevin). Also missed by his grandchildren, other family and friends. Our father was predeceased by his beautiful wife Marilyn Jane Zaple and his eldest son Lawrence William Zaple.
My brother James and I would like to thank the Heart Failure Clinic at St. Joe’s Hospital in London, Ontario. The excellent, compassionate care we received for our father and for us by Christine and her co-workers was truly wonderful.
We would also like to thank all the staff in the C.C.U in University Hospital in London for respecting our father’s wishes and for all the empathy, kindness and care he received in his final journey.
