Don was the definition of a family man and like it says, he was happiest at home in "Heather Haven". Growing up, I was best friends with his Daughter Jenna. He created so many great memories for us like building the coolest treehouse that still has our writing on the inside walls from when we were little. He would always make fun of me for wanting to come over and swim but NEVER get in the water because it was cold (it really wasnt, but I always hated swimming in water colder than a hot tub). Well Don, nothing has changed and honestly when I "go swimming" to this day I chuckle a little bit. Every time I make Kraft Dinner I always think of you because somehow you made the best mac, I wish I asked what the secret was but I think I know, it was love...or a lot of extra cheese. I dont think this man owned any shirts because he would always be sitting out on the back deck smoking his ciggies with no shirt on watching the kids swim, play in the treehouse he built, and run around the yard playing hide and seek. He was such a simple man, just so content surrounded by his family. I wish you got to know when it would be the last time you'd see someone. Next time I come back home for a visit it wont be the same, but you are EVERYWHERE at Heather Haven and we will never forget you. Rest easy Don, love you.
