In Memory of Emily Romaine Ward

1941-2025

It is with great sadness that the world has lost a dearest mother, Emily Ward, on December 20, 2025. Emily passed peacefully in her 84th year surrounded by her beloved family. Predeceased by her devoted husband Raymond Ward, her sisters, brothers and mother Eileen McDonald. 

She treasured her children and was a much loved mother of Debra Robinson (Stephen), Kelly Shepherd, Greg Simpson and Natalie Evans (Shawn).

She especially loved her role as loving Nana to Crystal, Meghan, Courtney, Samantha, Eric and Amelia. She will be sadly missed by her great grandchildren Westin, Aria, Jameson, Thomas, Aubrey and Minnesota. 

Her health and mobility issues never stopped her from giving out the best hugs. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her laugh. Emily enjoyed world travelling with her husband Ray along with numerous friends and family members. She was a highland dancer in her youth and music of all decades brought her great joy. 

We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Oakcrossing LTC for their care, kindness and compassion in the last 6 years of her life. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the heart and stroke foundation are welcome. 

A private family graveside ceremony will be held at a later date in lieu of a service as almost all of her friends and family have beat her to the Pearly Gates.
