Obituary of Herb Lyon

Herbert Wayne "Herb" Lyon, age 85, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in London, Ontario. Born on January 1, 1940, in North Bay, Ontario, Herb lived a full and devoted life rooted in love for his family and a deep sense of care for those around him. He was the first Canadian born of 1940 and was crowned Mr. North Bay, a proud moniker he cherished.

Herb was a man who loved his wife and family immensely. He shared his life with his beloved wife Nancy, with whom he built a strong and enduring partnership. Together they raised three sons: Todd (Kelly), Tim, and Trevor. Herb took great pride in his role as a father and later as a grandfather to Sam (Lauren), Jill (Connor), and Mathew. His joy only grew with the arrival of his great-granddaughter Camryn, whose presence brought him immense happiness.

He is also remembered by his youngest sister Debbie, whose bond with Herb remained close throughout their lives. He was predeceased by parents Delores and John George

A man of quiet strength and unwavering dedication to those he held dear, Herb will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Arthritis Society in Herb’s memory.
