Obituary of Monica Odette Ashe

In loving memory of Monica Ashe, 1937 to 2025.

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Monica Ashe, beloved Mother, Gma, Sister, Friend, and Wife who passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025 at Parkwood Institute in London Ontario.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathryn and Rachael, by her husband of 55 years Bernard, her siblings Eunice, Maurice, and Anne, and her animal companions, Bones, Squish, and PC.

Monica was born on April 4, 1937 in San Fernando, Trinidad & Tobago to parents Frederick and Clothilda Archer and was the second eldest of eight brothers and sisters. She is predeceased by Patrick, Eileen, Stephen, and David.

Monica loved animals, especially dogs, and had a great appreciation for nature. She enjoyed visiting the beaches on Lake Erie, spending time in her daughter Kathryn’s backyard, and watching the wild birds at the feeder on her patio. She loved flowers, doing wordfinds to keep her brain sharp, and reading good books. Monica loved food, and was always excited for a good meal with family.

A funeral to honour Monica’s memory will take place at 10am on Friday January 9th, 2026 at St. Michael’s Catholic Parish, located at 511 Cheapside Street in London, Ontario. An Inurnment ceremony will take place at a later date in the spring at Woodland Cemetery.
