Obituary of Marjorie Marie Wilson
On January 8, 2026, Marjorie Marie (Ball) Wilson, of London, Ontario, in her 99th year, peacefully at LHSC, with family by her side. Marj was born in Embro, Ontario, on July 15, 1927, to Earl and Marie Ball. She grew up in London, where she met her husband of 63 years, Bruce Wilson. Marj was a hairdresser for many years, working in her mother’s hair salon, Earlma Beauty Shop. Later, when her husband began his own business, she became the office manager for the business. In their 30s, Marj and Bruce joined the London Flying Club, where they both became licensed pilots, enjoying recreational flying for many years. She was also an avid card player (especially bridge), and even picked up poker in the last few years. In 1981, they moved from London to the Huntsville area in Muskoka, where Bruce was born. They lived there together until Bruce’s death in 2013, then Marj on her own until 2020 when she returned to London. She was always very outgoing and accumulated many friends throughout her years in London and Muskoka. She will be missed. Marj was predeceased by her husband, Bruce, sister Jessie Butson, brother Norm Ball, and grandson Luke Mavity. Leaving to mourn, her sister Ena Parker, daughter Lyn Wilson, son Don Wilson (Lori), grandchildren Marnie (Chad) Rijnen, Megan Kinney, Rob (Ashley) Wilson, Ryan (Katarina Chan) Wilson, her great-grandchildren Chris Tippett, Brad (Margaret) Berton, Nick Kinney, Jake Rijnen, Rory Wilson, Benjamin Wilson, Nicholas Wilson, her great-great grandson Wayne Berton, and several nieces and nephews. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.
