It is with great love and profound sadness that the family of Dorothy Anne McFadyen (Wylie), in her 86th year, announce her passing in London, ON on January 25, 2026. Dorothy was a pillar of strength, resilience, and unfailing devotion to her family.

Dorothy leaves behind the love of her life and best friend of 64 years, John Arhtur McFadyen and son James Andrew McFadyen. Dorothy was the deeply loved grandmother of Kristen (Tyler) and Heather. She was also great grandmother to Nathan, Kylie and Jaxson who held her in the highest affection. Predeceased by her beloved children Laura Lynn McFadyen, Jeffrey Allan McFadyen; brothers Samuel, James, William, Robert and sister Masie (Paul). Dorothy was also the treasured aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was born in London, Ontario to William Wylie and Margaret Wylie (Marshell) and grew up on Springbank Avenue, attending Victoria Public School and went on to graduate from Beal Tech. Dorothy worked for the London Free Press for many years, where she met many life long friends.

Dorothy enjoyed travelling to many different places all around the world and also enjoyed the simpler things in life such as bingo and poker nights with her friends. She treasured her time spent at the cottage in the summers with her family and went on to enjoy countless winters in Florida with John.

Her family would like to thank all of the staff at Victoria Cancer Clinic and the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the Parkwood Hospital.

A private service has been held. In lieu of flowers, donations to Victoria or Parkwood would be appreciated.

Dorothy lived 86 years with grace, humour and compassion. Her legacy will forever live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
