Obituary of Jeffrey James Rowe Pitman

Jeff was born on September 18, 1956, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on February 13, 2026.

Jeff was a devoted father, uncle, brother, mentor, and friend. He lived his life with passion, determination, and an unmistakable pride for his family. He was the kind of man who encouraged those around him to pursue their interests wholeheartedly; to never stop learning, fixing, building, and dreaming.

Above all, Jeff was immensely proud of his sons. He is lovingly remembered by his sons Austin (Gina), Alex (Karissa), and Cory (Kelly), whom he supported unconditionally and spoke of often with joy and pride. His guidance, work ethic, and love shaped the men they are today, and his influence will continue to guide them for years to come. To his sons, Jeff often said, “Together we can do anything,” a motto that captured his devotion, his belief in family, and the spirit with which he faced every day. Jeff is also survived by his siblings Brian Pitman (Connie), Robin Pitman (Toni), and Margot Kneale (Paul), with whom he shared many memories, stories, and strong family bonds over the years. Jeff was predeceased by his parents, George W. Pitman and Dorothy Frances (Rowe) Pitman.

Jeff also had a lifelong love for animals, caring tenderly for his own pets and his sons’: Simba, Rex, Annie, Duke, Daisy, Max, General, Molly, Harry, and many others who brought him joy throughout his life.

Jeff faced life’s challenges with strength and resilience, always meeting obstacles head-on and inspiring others by example. He will be remembered for his generosity, his stories, his passion for mechanics and life, and the way he made everyone around him feel like family.

Jeff’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched, the lessons he shared, and the love he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
