Leo Frechette

Obituary of Leo Frechette

It is with heavy hearts that my mother, Lisette, my brother Mario, and I share the passing of our beloved father, Leo Frechette, in the early morning hours of February 28, 2026.

Leo was a kind and gentle man with a wonderful laugh, one that stayed with you long after the moment passed. His greatest love was always his family, but close behind were the simple joys that made him who he was: listening to his favorite music, watching his favorite hockey team, strumming his guitar, and chasing a good game of pool wherever he went. Even while traveling, he would research local billiard halls just to play a game or two. He was a proud member of Strokers Billiards Tournaments & more.

He and our mom shared a deep love for car rides and open-road adventures, taking in new landscapes hand in hand. They were only weeks away from celebrating 50 years of marriage on March 19, 2026, a milestone that speaks to the love and life they built together.

Dad had a rare gift: he made people laugh and feel safe. He was fiercely protective of those he loved, and his warmth drew in children and animals alike. I still remember how our family dogs were always glued to his side.

Leo leaves behind his wife, Lisette, two sons, Luc & Mario, a granddaughter, Kaylee, and a grandson, Drake, daughter-in-law, Debbie, son-in-law, Martin, brother, Louis, and sister Cecile, each of us carrying his love forward. His life was rich in the ways that matter most: lifelong friendships, a cottage he built with his own hands, siblings who adored him, a mother who loved him deeply, and two sons who will miss him more than words can express.

In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that donations be made in his memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, a cause close to our hearts: https://heartandstroke.crowdchange.ca/129183
