Jack Christiaans

Obituary of Jack Sake Christiaans

Jack Christiaans, at the age of 86, entered into the presence of the Lord on March 25, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and the peace of God's promises. He was a shining light in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him and leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family devotion that will be deeply cherished by all.

Jack was a devoted father to Patty (husband Joel), June (husband Darryl), and Steve. He took great pride in his role as a grandfather to Chris, Fraser, Dustin, Paris, and Lexi, each of whom brought him immense joy and happiness. His love for his family was steady and unwavering and he will be deeply missed in their daily lives.

He is also lovingly remembered by his sister Anita (husband Alec), as well as his cherished nieces and nephews, with whom he shared many meaningful connections over the years.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7 Jack was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus and shared the Lord's saving love and grace at any opportunity. He was a committed member of Byron United Church where he made many friends, whom he considered his extended family. Though we grieve his absence, we rejoice knowing Jack has received his eternal crown and now rests in the arms of his Savior.

Jack had a wide range of interests and hobbies, and he was especially known for his deep love of music. He enjoyed artists like Johnny Cash, along with old-time country and gospel—anything that got his toes tapping, hands clapping, and heart singing. He was also an avid stamp collector, had a passion for trains and cars, and never passed up a chance to go for a drive. Above all, what he cherished most was spending time with his family.

Jack will be remembered for his kindness, humour, quiet strength, and his steadfast presence. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, and the many lives he touched.

He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.

A funeral service honouring Jack’s life, followed by a reception, will be held at Byron United Church, London, Ontario, on April 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. We will gather in gratitude for his life and the comfort of faith and hope that sustained him.

Flowers may be sent to Byron United Church after 9:00 a.m. on April 25. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made by email transfer to treasurer@byronunited.ca. Please include Jack’s name, along with your own name and mailing address, for a receipt.
