Frederick Holness

Obituary of Frederick Michael Holness

Mike (Frederick Michael) Holness formerly of London and recently residing in Bayfield, died suddenly at age 68 on Friday May 29th, 2026 at the Goderich Hospital. He was predeceased by his parents Beverley Jean (Congdon) and Frederick Kenneth Holness, of London. Survived by his wife Heather Holness (Trainor), children Meghan Holness (Rob Gitta), Ben Holness, and Nicole Diavolitsis (Tom) all of London, sister Lin Bannister (Doug) of St. Thomas. He is also lovingly remembered by his nephew Dan Bannister (Shannon) and his niece Robbie Bannister (Jesse Matthews) whom he loved as his own. He leaves behind five grandchildren—Caitland, Nico, Chris, Stanley and Freddie—who will miss his encouraging and humorous nature.

Wonderful memories will last forever of a very giving and loving husband and father who deeply valued his family, proudly supporting his children, nieces, nephews and grandchildren in their sports and academic achievements. He dedicated many years and formed many friendships while co-owning "The Green Apron," located in London's original Covent Garden Market before transitioning to IT services at TD Canada Trust.

Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors, a good meal, a nice scotch, trail walks and camping trips. In retirement, he cared for his many bird feeders and plants, and he loved to watch the evening sunsets. His wisdom, patience and practical guidance left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. May he rest in heavenly peace.
