Jeff is a long time friend who will be missed. From when I first met him in the mid 1980s I was impressed by his quiet, gentle wit and sense of humour. He was one of the best listeners I have ever known, very well read and informed, and ever willing to hear and consider opinions of others. There was always a smile, chuckle, or laugh and twinkle of the eyes at the ready. Jeff treated everyone with respect, kindness and without judgment. Despite his health challenges he always maintained an optimistic, cheerful and non-complaining approach to life. I look back with gratitude and warmth when remembering many shared events and experiences with Jeff over the years, including potluck dinners, moving days, opera at Western, a shared love of art and literature, cider tastings and a very pleasant, memorable day last fall at Benmiller and Blyth. My heartfelt condolences to Heather, Cian, Chad, Hali, his grandchildren, his brothers and his many dear friends. We all share the loss of Jeff in our lives but also many amazing memories to ease the sadness.
