Obituary of Jason Guillemette

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Jason Guillemette, at the age of 35.

Born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Jason grew up in London, Ontario, where he spent most of his life.

Jason had a heart of gold and a generosity that knew few limits. He was the kind of person who would always lend a hand to someone in need, even when doing so meant going without himself. He would not hesitate to take the shirt off his own back if it meant helping someone else. If someone needed help, Jason was the type to drop everything and do whatever he could to help.

Jason cared deeply about the things that brought him joy. He loved airplanes and looked forward to attending the annual air show each year. He had a passion for cars, especially detailing them and taking pride in making them look their absolute best. He also loved hockey, having played as a child and later becoming an enthusiastic fan who watched every major hockey tournament.

Jason was also a great cook, although he rarely followed a recipe. Somehow, whatever he made always turned out delicious, despite leaving the kitchen looking like a disaster. In Jason's kitchen, the messier it was, the tastier the food.

Animals held a special place in Jason's heart as well. He loved and cared deeply for his pets over the years. Most recently, he loved spoiling and cuddling his dog Luna, who remains a much-loved part of the family.

Jason will be remembered for his generous spirit, his strong opinions, his willingness to help others, and his unique way of filling a quiet moment with a completely unexpected fact or piece of information.

Jason's life was not always an easy one, but his capacity to care for others remained one of the things that defined him. He had a way of making an impression through his kindness, his humour, his strong opinions, and all the little things that made him uniquely Jason. He will be deeply missed by his family and by all those who knew and loved him.

He leaves behind his parents, Daryl Guillemette and Johanne Langford; his sister, Jessica Guillemette, and her spouse, Jonathan Cote; and his grandmother, Virginia Guillemette. He will also be remembered by extended family and friends who were touched by his kindness.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Jacques Langford, Rolande Langford (Deshaies), and Fred Guillemette.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Jason’s memory to the Boys and Girls Club, where Jason volunteered. Donations can be made through the family’s memorial page: In Loving Memory of Jason Guillemette

The family will be holding a private Celebration of Life for Jason.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the incredible healthcare teams at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Victoria Hospital, University Hospital, as well as the paramedics and Emergency Department Social Worker, for the care, compassion, and support they showed Jason throughout his hospital visits over the past few months. Their kindness and dedication during a difficult time will always be deeply appreciated.
