Obituary of Edward Lane

Edward F Lane, May 2, 1942 – October 23, 2017

Peacefully passed at home on Monday October 23rd in his 75th year after a long battle with Lung Cancer.  Beloved Husband of 52 Years and Best Friend to Veronica (fondly known as Bonnie), Loving Father to Donna (Craig) Langille, Paul (Kim) Lane, Brenda (Rick) Annaert, Nancy (Tom) Wearing and a dear Poppy to his Grandkids Christopher (Emily) and Timothy (Emily) Lane, Charlie & Mackenzie Wearing, Tyler & Allison Annaert.

Son of the Late Michael & Kathleen Lane and survived by his Sisters, Bridget (Eric) Way, Esther Lane (Ray Wickens), Rita (Gord) Thomas, and Winnie (Richard) White and sister-in-law Sheila Gushue.  He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends and of course their beloved Cats, Benny and Jovi.  Anyone that knew Ed, might be laughing right now, thinking of he and the “darn” cats, but all joking aside, he loved them just as much as they loved him back.

A long standing member of the Knights of Columbus #1410 and #1452 and holding 4th Degree, on behalf of Sir Knight Edward Lane, we would like to extend our thanks.  Ed devoted much time to the causes of the Knights and thoroughly enjoyed his participation there.  A sincere thank you to his many friends at Plumbhouse & CPRI, you meant a lot to him.  For all the Doctors and Staff at the London Regional Cancer Clinic, the home visits from VON, CCAC and ProResp, thank you for the continued support through this roughest journey of his life.

Cremation has taken place and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date as per Ed’s wishes.  Please feel free to send online condolences to www.woodlandcemeterydirectcremationcompany.ca .

In Lieu of Flowers, a donation to the Lung Cancer Association or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
