Bruce Dickout

Obituary of Bruce Edward Dickout

Dickout: Bruce

It is with deep sadness that our family announces the loss of Bruce Dickout on January 10, 2021 at age 62. Our beloved husband, father and best friend passed peacefully at home in London, Ontario surrounded by his family after a year-long battle with cancer. He faced this fight head on, with determination and dignity.

Deeply missed by his wife, Louanne Foster, daughter Natalie Dickout and son Jason Dickout (Madisyn). Also missed by his brother Dave, sisters Marnie, Sue (Bruce) and Jane (Mike), sisters-in-law Sandra (Al), Marilyn (John), Brenda, Marsha (Pat), many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and his best friend, Scott Wilcox.

Bruce was born on December 1, 1958, and grew up in the wonderful small town of Simcoe, Ontario where he still has many friends. Bruce loved being an auto mechanic. He prided himself on his work ethic, and providing honest and fair service to his customers, most recently at Williams Downtown Automotive, previously at Oxford Shell, Vine's Shell and Simcoe Auto Electric. Everyone who knew Bruce appreciated his smile, genuine kindness, generosity, sense of humour, and his fun and easygoing attitude.  Some of his favourite things were the family cottage in Southampton, waterskiing, a good book, classic rock (Eagles and Boston in particular), classic cars, long drives and long walks, assisting the coaches of Jason's  baseball teams, the ball hockey/golf guys, the Chicago Bears, the Montreal Canadiens, and of course his pride and joy, his red 1968 Barracuda Fastback 383-S. Above all else he loved his family and was very proud of his children.

We would like to thank Bruce's entire family, near and far, friends and neighbours for their love and support throughout this journey. We also wish to thank Dr. Langer,  Dr. Sanatani and the oncology team at the London Regional Cancer Program, Dr. Parent and the Palliative Care Outreach Team, ParaMed Nursing and many others that we have likely forgotten to name.

Cremation has taken place, and due to the current pandemic, no service is possible at this time. A gathering to honor and celebrate Bruce will take place once everyone can safely gather together.
