Obituary of Charles Richard Harnett

Charles Richard Harnett, age 78, passed away peacefully at St.Thomas General Hospital, on Thursday, August 11, 2022, with his partner, Judy Page, by his side. Richard was born in Montreal, Quebec, on November 21, 1943, son of the late Ray Harnett and Beryl Harnett( nee Fraser). Richard was predeceased by his first wife, Ann, his second wife, Muriel and his sister, Janice Harnett.

Survived by his son Chris, his partner Judy, his brother David and sister-in-law, Mary, nieces and nephews,Tim, Angi and Amber.

Richard lived a full life as a career teacher with the Peel District Board and loved sailing his boat, for many years at the Alexandra Yacht Club, in Toronto. He enjoyed building and flying model planes. In his first career he drove for the Canadian Armed Forces in the Service Corp. Retiring first to P.E.I, he then moved back to St.Thomas, Ontario, where in his final years, he enjoyed the company of special friends Tricia and Rich and their family and his dogs: Storm, Becca, Elisha and Ella. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to his doctors, nurses and staff at Parkwood Hospital and St.Thomas General Hospital. At Richard’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Woodland Cemetery, London, Ontario. Richard, your dry sense of humour will never be forgotten, nor will you!
