I met Kari a few times, she picked up my walker for her Mother; also sat with you folks at Margie’s funeral ( still miss her ) Kids, study and make your Mother proud, I know you can. Kari is so special, and we will miss her so much!! I am so thankful to have had her as my mentor, teaching partner and as my dear friend. There’s an emptiness now that’s she’s gone …so I will work hard to fill that up with her memory and legacy.

I am so deeply saddened about the loss of Kari and my heart goes out to Mark and her three children, as well as her extended family and close friends. I will treasure my memories of this very special woman — as her colleague, teaching together at Parkview in the primary division, sharing carpooling responsibilities for Liam and Michael from Medway football practices, and in our parent-teacher relationship with Aiden. Always kind and caring, knowledgeable and professional, yet never wanting the spotlight, Kari touched the lives of so many who were privileged to know her. God bless you, Kari, and may you rest in eternal peace.

Kari and I met having Aiden and Marley share a preemie room at the NICU. The unspeakable bond mothers in that environment share came fast for us. I’ve known her for 16 years. There are few people I’ve met who are as sincere, kind and comfortable to be around as Kari. For that and so much more she will always be my unique irreplaceable friend. As a teacher colleague she and I shared a classroom for a few years and continued alongside each other at Parkview. She was generous in sharing her wealth of knowledge and ideas. She cared deeply about student success and worked with professional integrity every single day. Inspired so many to be better. Always a favourite of family members and of course the students themselves. Gone too soon, my heart breaks at her selflessness in protecting us all from worry. Love you Kari. P.S. Ali, Liam or Aiden if any day in the future you need it, ring my doorbell and say “Tell me I may not have heard about my mom.” Just do it.

I first met Kari when she was our daughter’s grade 2 teacher. We formed a friendship and I volunteered in her classroom. Later, I had the privilege of working with her. I was in awe what a wonderful teacher she was. Kari had a certain gift and she shared her gift with several students over several years. This lady was without a doubt the most kindhearted and generous person and was so very fortunate to have known her. Although we lost touch, I have never forgotten her nor will I ever. She definitely touched all those her knew her. My thoughts and prayers go out to Mark and their 3 children.
