Graham McIntyre

Obituary of Graham Stephen McIntyre

MCINTYRE, Graham Stephen – Graham passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at the age of 90.

Beloved husband of the late Molly (Parsons)(2016). Cherished father of Phill (Lisa) (Goderich). Loving grandfather of Nathan (Huntsville) and Brendan (Ottawa), and brother-in-law of Josie (Cardiff), wife of his late brother Doug. Predeceased by parents Bert and May, brothers Stan (Marjory) and Doug, and sister Doreen (Aubrey). Also surviving are many, many loving nieces and nephews in Wales. Graham was a dedicated and adoring husband. He was a loving and supportive father and grandfather, and an inspirational role model in all of our lives.

Born in 1932 in Cardiff Wales, Graham was the youngest of four children. He grew up in Britain during the war, and after graduating from school served two years in British Army (Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers) stationed in Singapore and Malaya, a time in his life that he always remembered fondly.

Upon his return to Wales, he reunited the love of his life, Molly. They married in Cardiff in 1954. They had many happy memories and told endless stories of family gatherings with the McIntyres or the Parsons and times spent together with music and dancing. Together they had one son, Phillip.

Graham moved his family to Canada in 1960. He loved being a Canadian, but never forgot his roots in Wales. Over the years Graham and family lived in Scarborough, Strathroy, London, and for the last two years in Goderich. Graham was a born salesman and worked for a number of companies over his life. He and Molly also owned several businesses together until they retired to enjoy more time with their grandchildren.

Diagnosed with cancer in May 2023, Graham had a clear vision of the way that he wanted to go, and in true McIntyre fighting spirit, he did just that. Now, together at last, he is dancing in Heaven with Molly.

The McIntyre family would like to thank the staff of Goderich Place Retirement Home, the PSWs and Visiting Nurses from OneCare Support Services for the wonderful care given to him. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held from 4-7 pm, Saturday, June 10th at the 3 Lake Breeze Drive, Goderich. Graham and Molly will be returning home to their final resting place in Wales later this summer and a family celebration of life will be held there at a date TBD.

We miss you Dad. We love you Papa.

I know we will meet again some sunny day.
