We were blessed to have been long time friends of Ken – Mike for almost 50 years and Chris for almost 20. Mike met Ken at Price Waterhouse, both newly minted CAs who had joined the Toronto tax department of PW. Ken was the co-worker that everyone liked – always friendly and helpful. We took a number of offsite professional development courses together and we was a great roommate – serious and diligent when appropriate but after the work was done, very sociable with a great sense of humour and a repertoire of jokes. Although we both moved on from PW, we developed close relationships with a small group of colleagues which evolved into an annual PW reunion with spouses. Generally this was held at someone’s house or cottage but also included trips to New York, New Orleans and Costa Rica. Ken was an excellent photographer and took on that official role at these reunions. He would take the trouble to compile an album of each get together which he would provide to the participants. This included a number of candid shots which are not for public viewing. When he caught someone on camera in an unexpected moment, resulting in a shriek or unrepeatable language, he would let out a great laugh which none of us will never forget.
Above all, Ken was a kind, gentle and loving man. We are very fortunate to have been his friends and we will miss him greatly.
