Obituary of William Eugene Yarkie

William Eugene Yarkie (Bill) of Chelmsford, passed at University Hospital, London on July 31st, 2023 in his 86th year. Beloved husband of Connie Yarkie of 63 years. Born on July 12th, 1937, in Englehart, Ontario. Predeceased by his son Chad. Father to Eugene (Traci), Elaine, Billy (Pamela) and Lori ( Monty). He will be missed by many grandchildren, great grand-children, brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Bill was a hardworking and dedicated miner for 40 years; 30 of which were at Falconbridge mine in Sudbury. Bill was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan who loved to hunt,  fish and spend time travelling in their motor home. Bill was proud of his family and his love of his wife was immeasurable!

Dementia may have affected his day-to-day life over the last few years but when he was asked what his favourite memory was, he always said, “My wedding day”!

Cremation has taken place  and  Celebration of life to be held at a later date. Donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Ontario.
