Howard Donnelly Falls

1925-2017

Howard Donnelly Falls, born in Welland, Ontario on July 17, 1925 from London, Ontario, passed away peacefully on Sunday November 12th in London with family by his side.

Howard graduated from the University of Toronto in 1949 with a Bachelor of Architecture. He practiced in that field with Riddle Connor Falls and Irvine, Architects and later followed as Falls and Irvine, Architects. Howard specialized in Schools, Public Buildings (Federal), Homes for the Aged and Private Dwellings. Schools included Lord Dorchester High School, Clarke Road Secondary School, Oakridge Secondary School and around 19 elementary schools in the London area and surrounding Townships.  Howard wound down his firm in 1972 and he had a 15 year teaching career at the School of Design at Fanshawe College. Howard found joy in woodworking, sailing, curling, wood carving, jazz music; among just a few. He was admired by many as a gentleman, in every sense of the word.  

Howard is predeceased by his wife and soulmate of 67 years, Muriel Falls (2017) and son John (1999).  Howard will be dearly missed by - Children Tom (Christina), Greg (Sarah), Matthew and Margo - Grandchildren Sarah Clark (Jordan), Katie Valenti (Shawn), Trevor Falls (Crystal), Lauren Falls, Michelle Bryson (Phil) and Andrew Falls - Great-grandchildren Henry Clark, Abigail Bryson, Ruby Falls and Grayson Valenti.

Many thanks to the staff at the Village of Glendale Crossing Long Term Care Facility for his care and comfort during his residency.  

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
