Obituary of Connie Hessel

It's with sadness that we announce the passing of our much loved mother, Connie. After a lengthy ilness with Alzheimer's disease, she passed away in Henley Place long term care on December 31, 2023 with her family by her side.

She is survived by her children Debbie McClelland (Michel Prefontaine), Scott Hessel (Joanne), Geoff Hessel (Brenda) and Nancy Bond. She is loved and missed by her grandchildren Wes (Erin), Lisa (Shawn), Steve (Rene), Candice (Mark), Andrea (Shaun), Cameron and Matthew. She was loved as well by her great grandchildren, Jackson, Nichola, Paris, Zain, Ben, Spencer, Jenna, Drew, and Harper. Connie is survived by her brother LaVerne Shipley and sister, Lorraine McClelland, as well as nieces and nephews.

Connie is predeceased by her parents, Norman and Pearl Shipley, her husband, Jack Hessel (1984), her sister Dorothy Stade and her sister-in-law, Erie Shipley (2023).

We wish to thank Dr. Borrie at the Aging Brain Clinic and the McCormick Home Alzheimer's day program for their good care of mom. Special thanks to Henley Place for their loving care over the past seven years. She was loved by staff and residents alike.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life to be announced at a later date.
