Obituary of Lorraine Margaret Brinen

BRINEN, Lorraine Margaret – Age 88, of London, Ontario passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2024; at LHSC-University Hospital, after a brief but significant illness. Lorraine was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (nee Waring) and Fred Moody of Toronto, Ontario. Lorraine always sought ways to get involved in the things she loved. She sang in choirs, belonged to book clubs, volunteered to monitor elementary school lunch hours, and was involved in many roles at her church. Married to Grenville “Gren” in 1957 she was a loving wife until his passing in 2005. Mother to Stephen (Jennifer) and Jim (Catherine) who will miss her dearly. She is further survived by her grandchildren Erin (Jordan) Skinner, Sarah (Jason) Brinen and Julia (Sam) Brinen and her four great grandchildren, Evelyn, Grayson, Noah and Lucy. Predeceased by her sister Marilyn Cotter and brother Fred Moody.

A celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held at Oakridge Presbyterian Church, 970 Oxford St. W., London, Ontario on Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 1 p.m. followed by a reception at the same address. There will be no interment ceremony. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Lorraine are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Foundation, the Alzheimer Society SW region or a charity of your choice.
