Obituary of Gord Davidson

Gord passed away at home on Tuesday May 28th, 2024 surrounded by his family after a seven year battle with Neuroendocrine cancer. He left this world knowing he was loved.

Gord or Papa to his grandchildren was a quiet gentle soul who faced his illness with courage and never once complaining or feeling sorry for himself. He was a true gentleman, and he had a quick wit. Papa loved his family very much and was so proud of his sons Jeff and Adam. He was a wonderful husband and best friend to Marilyn.

Gord leaves behind his loving wife Marilyn, his sons Jeffrey (Melissa), Adam (Carla), and bonus daughters Penny Eimer (Brian) and Dawn Colbon (Chris). His grandchildren Kyra, Owen, Lily, Isabella, Porter, Peyton, Alyssa, Kyle, Noah, Tynan and Riley will miss their Papa dearly. He also leaves behind his brother Jim and was pre-deceased by his brother Doug.

Gord had a 33-year career in the insurance business. The last 10 of those years he had the title of Chief Underwriter at London Life/ Great West Life. After taking early retirement Gord was able to enjoy countless hours on the golf course, taking vacations with Marilyn and enjoying time with all his grand children.

The family would like to thank the many doctors and nurses who cared for Gord in the cancer clinic. A special thank you to his at home care nurse Kaitlin, who cared for him with such kindness.

Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering to remember Gord will take place later.
