Roland was an incredible person and friend who had been a big part of our family for over 55 years. Roland alway had a big smile that matched the size of his heart. His memories will forever be with us and I feel all our lives are richer for having known him. Our deepest condolences. Our memories are filled with years of friendship and laughter. The friendship of Roland and Jose spanned 64 years and included so many milestones. The Tuesday morning coffees and conversations were a highlight and will be missed. So many dinners, celebrations, and memories of good times that bring a smile to our faces. Rest in peace, Roland. Roland was an ideal friend and neighbour for over 40 years. He enjoyed discussing current and historical events and with his great memory for details it was hard to dissuade him from his point of view. I am very sad and will miss my brother Roland very much. The time I was able to spend with him in Schwäbisch Gmünd or Canada was always a pleasure. We were close to each other although we were far away in distance.

Roland, my dear brother- in- law, was in my humble opinion too modest. He was such an admirable man, who wanted to make every day valuable. Never complained about anything, always trying to make each day the best of his life. I admired him for that for almost 56 years, I am very grateful for everything he gave me and did for me. Life is something precious to be treasured every day, but like a candle in the wind its light can fade away. Roland’s light will never fade from our memory.
