Obituary of Robert "Bob" Wesley French

REMEMBERING ROBERT FRENCH (“BOB”)

Bob passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024, at the age of 77. He left with dignity.

A person of great strength, and gentle spirit; abiding faith and quiet manner, Bob loved the simple pleasures found in nature and family devotions. From his Muskoka farming roots, Bob remained passionate about the outdoors, enjoying camping, gardening, birds, and family weekends spent at many provincial parks in southwestern Ontario.

Bob was tough! He was a wonderful example to family, friends, and co-workers of how to respond to hard knocks with grace and determination. Most of all he was kind.

Bob leaves his beloved wife Ivy. The figure skating and curling worlds have one fewer fan. Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Doremy French, and his sister Susan, his siblings Christopher and Lori will now take up the mantle of researching the family tree. Bob and Ivy's children Roy, Rosemary and Susan and their grandchildren, Wesley, Madison, Katherine, Samantha, Olivia and Eleni are left to mirror the virtues of humility, acceptance, kindness, and unconditional love found in this lovely man.

The family thanks Southbridge Long Term Care Home and especially the Cherry Suite staff for their exceptional care during Bob’s battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. While he engaged the battle, he never surrendered.

The family will celebrate Bob’s life privately. In memory of Bob, donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
