Obituary of John Lawrence Berger

BERGER, John Lawrence (Larry)
November 18, 1939 - January 6, 2025

Suddenly at University Hospital on Jan 6, 2025 Larry Berger passed. Predeceased by his parents Milton (1976) & Dorothy (2003) Berger, brother Ron McDowell (1992), Seaforth and grandson Matthew Manton (1996), London. Larry always spoke warmly of his childhood growing up in Seaforth and the friends he had. Larry will be dearly missed and never forgotten by his partner of 49 years Janice Koenig, his daughter Cathy (Howard) Manton, grandchildren Nathan and Maddie (Jack), London. Also his siblings Carl (Brenda) Berger, Winnipeg MB, Donna Hubbs, Chatham and Nancy (Richard) Jackman, London, sister-in-law Wanda (John) Bacon & family, Parkhill. Many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, old & new friends.

Larry worked for many years as a Sales Manager among other positions selling automobiles in London and beyond. His great love was for antiques and meeting people that shared his passion. He deeply loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. So many memories and stories to recall. Larry had a great sense of humour, loved life and was always with his furry friend Maggie whom he thought the world of. The wild birds were fed every day and that will be continued in his memory.

His family would like to thank EMS & UH emergency staff who attended to Larry in his final moments. Also thanks to LRCC Dr. Ernst, Matt Parezanovic, St. Joseph's Dr. Bjazevic & staff for his excellent care over the last 4 years.

Larry has been cremated and a private family interment at Woodland Cemetery will take place (date to be determined).
