Obituary of Clara "Margaret" Wade

On January 9th, 2025 Clara Margaret Wade passed away peacefully with her 3 sons by her side. She was in her 86th year and passed away at the family farm, where she lived most of her life.

Margaret was the only child of Archie and Clara Bowering. (Marr).

Mom was known by everyone as Marg, Margie or Mags.

Mother to Todd and Tim (John). Grandmother to Samantha, Jake and Chase.

She worked at the LCBO for over 20 years where she made many friends.

I asked her about her favourite memories. Without hesitation, she responded, “walking to the road as a little girl holding my dad’s hand to get the mail & sitting on the porch visiting with friends”

Since retirement, and for many years prior, she spent much of the winter in Puerto Vallarta. “Her happy place”

Mom cherished her lifelong friendships with Eleanor and Loretta as well as her friendships later in life with Mary Ann, Sonja, Donna and Jan.

The journey was long but supported. Many thanks to Dr. Laba and nurses, (Sharon) at the LHSC Cancer Clinic. Palliative care Team 3, especially Geetika and Meagan for their nursing care. Thank you to our awesome PSWs Selena, Shanti, Beata and Lisa.

We could not have completed this journey without ALL of our friends and co-workers who were there for us doing whatever it took. Chats, laughs, visits, food, treats, Geri-sitting, asking how Mom was. These gestures were so appreciated.

To the wine and Kleenex industries, we are sorry for your loss too.

Donations can be made to the LHSC Cancer Clinic but the best donation is kindness and to realize “it should always be family first”.

Private family interment will be held May 16, 2025.

Celebrations of life for Mom and Dad, (Terry Wade) will be held at the “farm” (4493 Wonderland Road South) Friday May 16th from 6-9 PM, for friends and family.
