Obituary of Edmund Braun

Edmund Braun died suddenly at home on July 9, 2018 at R.R. #1 Ridgetown, Ontario. He was predeceased by his parents, Daniel & Ottilie (Haase) Braun and 3 brothers, Arnold, Karl and Otto.

Ed was born in Worbis, Germany on July 31, 1942 and came to Canada as a young boy with his family on August 18, 1948 where he lived in the Drumbo area until he married Gayle Colbran on October 20, 1962.  Ed and Gayle spent most of their married life moving from one place to another around the Woodstock area and beyond, including Florida.  Ed worked at Timberjack in Woodstock until a back injury incurred at work caused him to leave on disability in 1989.  He enjoyed farming, woodworking, boating, his garden, and conversing with people from all walks of his life.

He is survived by one sister, Irma Zitzelberger and many beloved nieces and nephews, of Kitchener, Ontario; four children: Danny (Adrienne), Michael (Brenda), Debbie (Craig) and Susan (Henry); 9 grandchildren: Ryan (Katie), Scott (Stephanie), Benjamin, Stephen (Karissa), Nick, Rebecca (Christopher), Justin, Matty and Victoria (David).  His great-grandchildren were a joy to him when he saw them: Joshua, Alex, Addison, Jillian, Connor, Samantha, Zachary and Mitchell.

At Ed’s request, no service will be held and cremation has taken place. May he rest in peace.  A celebration of life will be held in August by invitation.
