Obituary of Sharon Delores Sampson
It is with great sadness that we announce that Sharon passed away on July 21, 2018 at Victoria Hospital in her hometown of London, Ontario. Only 74 years of age, Sharon lived her life to the fullest, cherishing her time with friends and family.
Sharon was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She leaves behind the love of her life - her husband Ronald Fletcher, her beloved son Brandon Bocchini and daughter-in-law Sherri, and her pride and joy - her grandson Mathias. Predeceased by her adoring father and mother - Frank and Doris (Johnson) Shaw, it gives us comfort that she will be interred with them at a private ceremony at Woodland Cemetery. Joined in our grief by her uncle Eric Johnson, cousins Joan Johnson and Brenda (Johnson) and Perry Parkington and dear friends Charlene Devine and her family, as well as many other close friends and extended family.
She was the life of every party and was known for her big heart, entertaining stories and compassionate spirit. Everyone coveted a spot at her dinner table for one of her wonderful homemade meals, especially if she was serving one of her specialties of lasagna or chicken parmesan. She readily offered love, support and guidance over a cup of tea and celebrated your successes to everyone. In management at the Ivanhoe Curling Club for close to 20 years, she took great pride in making everyone feel welcomed. Never one to sit still, she had a flair for decorating and design and used her talent to open her store Chez Nous on Richmond Row. After it closed, she continued to enjoy this creativity with many, many decorating projects but was especially proud of the beautiful holiday decor she designed for her home and those of friends and family.
Sharon’s gift was that she truly connected with people. Always the mother hen in her professional and personal roles, she wisely chose when you needed a push and when you needed a kind word or gesture. She had a strong sense of justice, always fought for the underdog and spoke from her heart. These were among the qualities most treasured by those fortunate enough to know her.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Sharon on Wednesday, August 8th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 2114 Riverbend Road, London, Ontario N6K 0A3 and welcome all to attend to share stories and memories together. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you choose a favourite charity of your choice that will help make this world better, just like Sharon did.
