Gosh Bernice we only just received the news of Gord’s passing. The messenger must have had a long paddle and many long portages before landing here in Peterborough. We “kind of” understand the impact of the loss of your life long friend but you had a bond that went beyond what many experience or understand. Both you and Gord will continue to be inspirational to us. Bernice you are special and beautiful. You have our love and support now and forever.
With the best heartfelt hugs, Tom Daly and Valerie Way-Nee

We were saddened to hear of Gord's passing, though we met Gord, Bernice and their sons only briefly last year when they sold us their house in Grand Bend. We were charmed by all of them and the story of them building this house 30 years ago.

Dear Bernice, Robert, Donald, Kenneth and loving Grand kids:
We were sorry to hear about the passing of Gord. I was sorry that my daughter, Maureen and myself were unable to show our respects and condolences by attending the Celebration of Life at the ski club yesterday.
It is always difficult to lose a long time friend but it is more difficult when one was also a former long term neighbor and a fellow charter ski club member. We watched our kids grow up together and the changes in the ski club. Gord worked very hard even during many cold nights for all of our benefit. Every time I pass your former house on Old Hunt Club Drive, I fondly think of you all.
Sincerely
Ronald Richardson and family

This may not be a picture of Gord but his wanagin is in the top picture. Gord and Bernice took us on our first canoe trip. Bernice taught me how to preserve cheese with cheesecloth and paraffin wax, how to make tasty meals with dried ingredients, how to pack light. Gord taught our kids how to paddle and how to avoid tipping a canoe. Gord and Bernice were our mentors. Our family enjoyed wilderness trips every summer. Gord always said happy birthday to me on April 12th which made it impossible for me to forget his birthday the next day. We are so sad to hear of his passing. We love you, Bernice.

I am saddened by the news of Gord's death. He was such a great greeter at the grand bend workshops and always had a smile and a joke.
He was always willing to offer help with my Tai Chi practice.
May the many wonderful memories of his vitality and love of all things outdoors, help to cushion your great loss.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Bernice & family,
We are sorry for your loss. We were inspired by Gord & Bernice’s love of life & ease of movement at a Tai Chi open house. We signed up & have enjoyed Tai Chi ever since.
May all the beautiful moments you were blessed to spend together with Gord flood your minds and help heal your broken hearts.

I am so sorry to hear of Gordon's passing. He was a bright star at Tai Chi, always willing to share a witty observation or joke. He added humour and levity to different events in which he was involved. I will miss his bright smile and heartfelt greetings. We were truly saddened to hear about Gord’s passing. A true gentleman who had great zeal for exploring and enjoying the Canadian landscape. We were truly lucky to be able share some of that interest with both him and Bernice. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

To say Gord was a special man is true, but it doesn't really say enough. Gord was an exceptional person. His love for his family and friends, knew no boundaries. He was incredibly bright, kind, caring and a true gentleman. Above all, he had panache - not the type that took years to groom and perfect, but the kind of panache that one is born with ... the rarest. He was a naturalist and activist in the preservation of our God given resources. Gord enjoyed many years canoeing, hiking and enjoying what nature had to offer, with his wife, sons, grandchildren, family members and friends. Gord will always have a special place in our hearts and will be greatly missed.

Gord had a long and fulfilling life and will be missed. I became acquainted with Gord in Huron Woods and served with him on the board when I first moved to Grand Bend in 1991. I will remember how he served his community and how much he loved the outdoors. Please accept my condolences at this sad time.
With sympathy to Bernice and all of the family,
Jacqui Krech

I had the wonderful privilege of knowing Gord for many years through my dental practice. I would have to search far and wide to find a finer family! Many years ago, I would drop my daughters off at the Byron Ski Club secure in the knowledge that they were in great hands with Gord and Bernice at the 'no nonsense; controls!
A life well led. RIP Gord.

It has been a pleasure to know Gord. A very good man in family, business and friendship.
He was held in high regard by Mr. Moy and virtually all of his Tai Chi friends.
Yes, I'll miss him but I'll also forever have him in my heart.
