Obituary of Louise Emily Henderson

Louise Emily Henderson (Lake) peacefully at home at the age of 96. Beloved mother of John Douglas Henderson of London and Patricia Mary Girard of Sarnia. Mother-in-law of James Mei and the late Rene Girard. Louise is survived by seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Louise was born in Sarawak Township in Grey County, entered service at a young age, and at the age of 16 was employed at Harris Furniture factory in Owen Sound, where she met Douglas Henderson. In 1944 Louise and Douglas married, while he was on leave from active service in World War II. In 1952 the Hendersons moved to Sarnia, and Louise took a position as a departmental manager at Woolco. Having divorced Douglas in 1962, Louise moved to London in 1983 having just retired. Louise was an avid reader, enjoying beading custom-made gowns, knitting and playing card games.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society of London and Middlesex  will be welcomed. Condolences may be left at the Woodland Cemetery website.
