Obituary of Helen Marie McCarty

It is with sadness that we annouce Mrs. Helen Marie McCarty born on October 15, 1928 to the late James and Mary Brown passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Victoria Hospital at the age of 90.

Beloved wife of the late Garnet George McCarty (1995). Proud and loving mother of Donna Allen (Keith), John Allen (Pam), Rick McCarty (Gladys), Donald McCarty, Mary McCarty, Jerry McCarty, Norine Crivea (Ken), Catherine McCarty, Ivan McCarty. Predeceased by her daughter Sharon Diane, son George Allen ("Liz"), Baby boy McCarty, and grandson Paul Allen, sisters/brothers (Dorothy, Eleanor, James "Tom", Annie and Donald "Don") . She is survived by her Brother Malcolm "Mac", sister Regina "Jean" and Patricia "Patsy".

She will be remembered dearly by many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Helen will be remembered foundly for her strength, courage and kindness. She helped many neighbourhood kids and people over the years. Her door was always open and she was ready with a hot cup of coffee and a listening ear. She will be remembered for her saying, "I love you with a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."

Cremation has taken place.  Interment will be held in Woodland Cemetery, 493 Springbank Dr., on Thursday, May 30th, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Please meet at the front office at 10:50 a.m. to procede to gravesite together.  All are invited back to Norine's house following the interment for a potluck and time to share memories of Helen.  Arrangements entrusted to Woodland Cemetery.
