We certainly are glad that we were able to get down to see Shirley on Tues. Aug. 20th to spend time with Shirley . We had a good chat about all the years that we have been not only cousins but good friends. We certainly have lost a very special lady who was so full of fun and joy. I know I should have got to London to get more family information maybe Kathy Fiddick will be able to keep in touch with me and share the George Roden family history. I met Shirley as my mom's roommate at UH in July. She was such a sweet and caring social bug. She shared her love of church with us as we share the same minister, Rev. Paul. She also shared with us her love of writing notes and keeping journals. She shared stories of her children and grandchildren and the joy you all brought her. Condolences to all who loved her. I only had a little time with her and her impact on me was astounding. Heaven has certainly gained an angel.

Shirley was not only Kathy's mom but, she became a friend to whomever came across her doorstep. She made being a working mom look easy, back when there wasn't many mothers in the workforce. A wonderful woman and a mom to so many of us,and her generosity at every baby, bridal, retirement, tupperware, candle party was much appreciated. She lived a full life and her presence will be dearly missed. Rest in Peace! When I see a butterfly we will think of you Shirley. Christine,Chris,Andrew
