Obituary of James Alexander Ross
ROSS
James "Jim" Alexander
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of James "Jim" Alexander Ross, on Saturday, May 9, 2020, at the age of 74, at Parkwood Institute Palliative Care Unit after a 19 month battle with cancer. Jim was courageous to the end. He was surrounded by family when he finally let go.
Jim will be forever missed by his devoted wife Joanne; two loving daughters, Jillian (Kevin) Bender and Lezlie (John) Ward; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Sydney & Kelsey Bender, Brooke & Brett Green, Alana & Hailey Ward; his sister, Margaret "Bridget" Ross; his mother-in-law, Aurore (John d.2010) Sobchuk; his sister-in-law, Linda Sobchuk; extended family, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and countless friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Charles(1988) and Mary (Robinsky) (2005) Ross.
Yes, Jim had many friends from many different circles of life and as one friend said "Jim connected a lot of people". He went by many different names - Tiny, Jim, Ross, Jimbo, Jim-boy, Jimmy (only a select few could call him that - including his mother). He was adventurous and always ready to "get on the road again". He loved music, travelling, sailing, motorcycling and driving. He was kind and full of life and he was always smiling. Jim was our gentle giant teddy bear.
We express our gratitude to the caregivers of the LHIN, LHSC - University & Victoria Hospitals & London Regional Cancer Program and Parkwood Institute Palliative Care Unit for their wonderful and compassionate care.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place and we hope to have a Celebration of Life at a later date. You may view a tribute page at woodlandcemetery.ca.
