Obituary of Bob Leeson

LEESON Robert Gerry – Peacefully in his 81st year, at Victoria Hospital, London, on Sunday May 24, 2020.

He was the devoted husband of Beverly (Harrington) Leeson for 60 years. Bob was the loving father of Randolph (Cathy) of Point Edward and Lori (Ken) of Belmont.

Cherished grandfather of Tyler and Ryan (Susie) Rivard, and Mathew and Sarah Leeson. Great grandpa to Liylah, Kiannah, Avery and Elijah Rivard and Avery Leeson. Dear brother-in-law to Ernie and Sandra Harrington.

Predeceased by beloved grandson Erik Rivard (2013), sister Marion Kamp (Dirk), brothers Dennis (Ann) and Jack (Jennifer).  Also predeceased by sister-in-law Brenda (Harrington) Allen and her husband Ed Allen.

Bob was born to Agnes and Clarence on Sept. 2, 1939 in London, Ontario.

As a couple, Bob and Bev spent many happy years taking annual trips to Pigeon Forge TN with lifelong friends Ron and Kathy Gelech.  Bob was known for his love of classic cars and stock car racing, especially NASCAR. He also enjoyed attending car shows with the boys.

He will be remembered as a committed family man. He left us many fond memories from summer camping trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains, his funny stories and his willingness to always help.  As one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, he enjoyed sharing his beliefs with many.

Bob had a wonderful sense of humour and was a favourite uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

The family thanks the many doctors, nurses and caregivers involved in Bob’s care as he fought so hard during his lengthy illness.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to either the London Health Sciences Foundation COVID-19 Response Fund, or JW.org.

Cremation has taken place.  A memorial service for Robert Leeson will be held online on June 13 starting at 6:30 p.m. All are welcome to join on Zoom by following the link:
