While I didn't meet your husband and father, I feel as though I do know about the positive and Godly influence that James had on his family. I work with Jonathan, who is also a man of God and often speaks of his father. There is no doubt that Jonathan respects, admires and loves his Dad and has learned much from him over the years. Jonathan's "work family" is praying for each of you and asking God to surround you with His peace.

Dear Ruth and family: I was a classmate of Jim at the Stony Brook School. I remember him as a dedicated follower of Jesus and he was a gentle person.
We chatted at our 25th class reunion and he told me of his ministry with SEND. I went into pastoral ministry.
May God bless you all,
Bob Davies

I also was a classmate of Jim's at Stony Brook and, although I did not get to know Jim well, often saw him around campus or in chapel. I only really knew him as the tall, quiet, long distance runner. But his presence exuded a simple confidence and humility that we should all strive to project.
Rest In Peace, Jim... see you on the other side.
Bless you, Ruth

I came to know Jim as a classmate at The Stony Brook School (NY) in the 1960s. As was already stated, Jim was probably the most humble young man among our class. Humility is a strength too many of us fail to exhibit in our relationships with others yet Jim did so faithfully, day in and day out. That he and Ruth served in missionary service for almost 40 years confirms that he desired to serve the needs of others rather than his own. Ruth, we have never met but I want you to know that Jim impacted many, including his high school classmates in ways he perhaps never realized. May our Lord give you strength for the walk ahead. Tonight, I rejoice that Jim has achieved what all Christ followers desire - to see Jesus Christ face to face.

Jim Andrews was a wonderful colleague in ministry throughout his years of service with SEND International. I first met Jim and Ruth in Glennallen Alaska where Jim served at radio station KCAM as an engineer and announcer. He also served the local churches of the Coper River Basin. Jim was asked to lead the establishment of KRSA in Petersburg Alaska. He did that with distinction. Both of the above Christian radio stations were operated by SEND International to serve the communities of both Central Alaska and Southeast Alaska. \
Jim later joined the staff of the Canadian Office of SEND in Canada. He used his gifts to help and serve many Christian missionaries who took the good news of Jesus to over 20 countries in Asia, Europe and Eurasia as well as North America. Jim was a faithful humble follower of Jesus. I am thankful for his life and service.
Sincerely,
Frank M. Severn
General Director Emeritus of Send International
