Betty Lou Wuerth (Hill) peacefully passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Listowel Memorial Hospital. Born in Kirkland Lake, Ontario then later moved to Sudbury, Ottawa and London before moving to Caressant Care Retirement Home in Listowel, Ontario in August 2016. Beloved wife of the late Glen Sylvester (Mickey) Wuerth and predeceased by her loving parents Ted Edward Hill and Marjorie Dale Hill (Osborne). Loved mother of Bill Peters (Micheline Barbarie), Ted Peters (Betty Bock), Cherie McTaggart (Wayne) and step-mother of Greg Wuerth (Lynne), Kim Penz (Karl) and predeceased by her step-son Peter Wuerth (Glenda). Also lovingly remembered by son-in-law Brian Hunter. Grandmother to Patrick Barbarie (Julie Lizotte), Julie Barbarie (David Spina), Jordan Bock (Corinna Den Dekker), Candace Bock (Derek Cook), Todd Hunter (Kaitlyn), Kyle Hunter, Melissa Knapp, Carla McTaggart, Craig McTaggart (Tina), Cheryl McGimpsey, Elyse Dougall, Jill Gelston, Erica Walsh, Sarah Penz, Lisa Penz, Billie Wuerth (Cathie), Shannon Mai Wuerth (Glenn Cormier), Brent Wuerth (Lot) and Ryan Wuerth (Christine). Loved by Lisa Pegg (& family). Lisa was a Little Sister through Big Sisters with Cherie & Brian since age 5 and Betty Lou was "Grandma" to her growing up. Betty Lou and Mickey also have 25 great grandchildren. Dear sister to Ron Hill (Cathy) and predeceased by brother Jack Hill and wife Penny. Sister-in-law to Doris Baxter (Wilson Forbes) and predeceased by brother-in-law Fred Wuerth and wife Helen and sister-in-law Eldonna Blackwell and husband Bob. She will also be fondly remembered by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to the staff at Caressant Care Retirement Home, Staff at Listowel Memorial Hospital (ER, 1st & 2nd floors), Dr Gateman, Dr. Cameron and Woodland Cemetery. Betty Lou was an avid Toronto Blue Jays fan and could not wait for each season to start so she could cheers on her Jays. Betty Lou loved to decorate inside and outside for all the holidays and special occasions. Due to COVID-19 restrictions cremation has taken place. The family will be holding an "Interment of cremated remains at Woodland Cemetery" and a "Celebration of Life" at a later date.
