Phil and Brenda Niles posted a condolence
Monday, March 28, 2022
We were deeply saddened with learning of the passing of your beloved Jim. I met Jim through ‘Athletes in Action’ in 1988 at a golf function and travelled for golf and a little surf fishing in Myrtle Beach in ‘89, ‘90, and ‘91. Jim was a true Christian and gentleman and Brenda and 3 children enjoyed his company and fellowship on our trip to Myrtle in 1991. We had lost contact after that, however whenever we revisited the area he was always in our thoughts and prayers. Please accept our most sincere condolences, and may our Lord give you all His comforting love at this time of year. Until we meet again, Jim. Phil and Brenda Niles, Cobourg, Ont.

I'm Jim's little sister,. .he was 17 when I was born so my memories of Jim are mostly from later in our lives, rather than when we lived together with our parents. I remember when his son Ronald was born, and our concern as he weighed only 3 1/2 lbs.
My favorite memory was from a winter when I stayed with him, and Ruth and Ron while I was going to University. I was playing hockey in the Womens league so Jim let me join him one evening to play with the church guys he played with.

Cont. While I stayed there he also liked to implicate me as a partner in his stealing buttertarts out of the freezer,. . which I deny. . still. But dear family, I am sorry to say goodbye , but knowing the hope we have to be together again. This is not the end. And I want to express my sincere gratitude to Ruby for her loving and faithful care of my brother through these past few years. The Lord bless you Ruby, for the kindness and love you gave Jim.
Much love, Sharon

I played a lot of hockey with Jim Fogarty. Jim was a tough defenceman . You had to have your head up coming across our blue line with Jim there.
