Obituary of Daniel Bert Olaveson

Daniel Bert Olaveson January 4, 1950 – January 16, 2017 Dan passed away the way he lived his life, with courage and in peace. He takes with him the love of those most precious to him, Linda, his wife of forty-three years, his three children, Catherine Olaveson, John Olaveson(Carolyn), Josie Pontarelli (Anthony) and our chosen daughter Pamela Green (Dean Miller) and his life's treasures, his five grandchildren, Megan Olaveson, Daniela and Marisa Pontarelli, Austin Olaveson and Nolan Miller. He also leaves behind his dear brothers and sister Tim Olaveson(Judy), Pat Olaveson and Janice Olaveson, his sisters-in-laws Bonnie Dannenberg(Lothar deceased) and her partner Bill, Phyllis Papineau (Jim deceased) and brother-in-law Butch Moore(Nikki) and many dearly loved nieces and nephews. Dan is predeceased by his mother Marcelle Jacob Olaveson, his father Robert Olaveson and his brother and sister-in-law Bob Olaveson and Jackie Olaveson. Dan was a great story teller. In his honour he would like you to get together and share a laugh and a story and remember him. According to Dan's wishes, Cremation has taken place. Please join us for lunch and stories on Sunday Jan. 22 from 1-4 pm at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 317 at 311 Oakland Ave. London Ontario. A celebration of Dan's life will be held this summer in his beloved Northern Ontario. Words cannot express our gratitude to Dr. Blake, Joanne and everyone at Westmount peritoneal dialysis unit and the wonderful nursing care at Adam Linton Dialysis Unit, special thanks to Lisa and Sandy. Your compassion and humour has made Dan's journey more tolerable. Thanks also to Dr. Mathews and the palliative nurses Joanna and Kelly at Victoria Hospital for their care and comfort in Dan's final hours.
