I have many fond memories of Jim driving his nephew John and I around our old neighbourhood on Grafton Street in his Nash Metropolitan convertible. We thought it was very cool to be seen with one of the local tough guys in a great car. Later on in life it was wonderful to see him become a very dedicated and loving family man. The world is a bit poorer with his passing. My sincere condolences to his whole family.

Having lived with him in the early 50's, uncle Jim and I always had a special relationship.
Nancy and I send our condolences to my cousins and their families.
Jim always loved a good joke. In his late teens he took an interest in scuba diving and had a complete wet suit. One day he stuffed the suit with newspapers, added a fake head, and hung it to the basement ceiling joist with a noose. My grandmother went down to do her washing and almost sh#t herself.
Another time he came down for breakfast with one side of his face swollen like a ballon. My grandmother said Jim had been to the dentist and had oral surgery. I found out later that he had been in a dust-up with a tough guy from his favourite bar (used to be the Empire I think at Ham & St. Julien). Jim was winning and had the other guy down when the guy's buddy kicked him in the head. Jim wasn't big but he wouldn't back down.
I could go on and on.

So sorry to hear about your dad/grandfather. He always made me laugh and welcomed me with a hug. I first met Jim 25 years ago ... always called him "Dad". I will miss him dearly.

Jim was a great father, grandfather and the best brother in law in the world. He was always there to make you laugh, give a hug or even on occasion offer advice. Rest In Peace.
